Goku es increíblemente rápido: puede reaccionar a ataques que viajan más rápido que la luz y luchar de maneras que desafían las leyes de la física. Sin embargo, incluso con esta asombrosa velocidad, no es el personaje más rápido del universo del anime.
Despite Goku’s incredible power, some characters can still defeat him by using abilities like time control, warping space, or converting into light. These characters don’t rely on simply being faster in a traditional sense; instead, they change how speed, reactions, and distance work in a fight, giving them an edge.
Whis Exists Outside The Speed System Goku Uses in Dragon Ball Super
The series Dragon Ball Super clearly demonstrates that Whis is much faster than Goku. Even when Goku achieved Mastered Ultra Instinct, he couldn’t successfully hit Whis during training. Whis effortlessly blocked attacks from both Goku and Vegeta with just one finger, proving his reaction time is far superior to theirs.
Whis is incredibly powerful because his speed isn’t about physical athleticism – it’s fundamental to how time itself works. He can use a technique called Temporal Do-Over to rewind time by three minutes, as he proved when Frieza destroyed Earth. This doesn’t make him move faster, but allows him to undo events completely. Even if Goku were faster than light, he couldn’t escape someone who can literally reverse time.
Minato Removes Distance Entirely Instead Of Crossing It in Naruto Shippuden
Minato’s speed isn’t just about moving quickly; his Flying Thunder God technique actually bends space and time. He doesn’t run from one place to another – he bypasses the distance completely. During the Third Shinobi World War, enemies would immediately retreat when they saw him because it was impossible to defend against someone who could instantly appear wherever he threw his special kunai.
In Naruto Shippuden, Minato was incredibly fast. He could react to Madara’s teleportation technique and catch baby Naruto while still battling enemies. The Fourth Raikage, known for his lightning speed, even admitted that Minato was quicker than him during their fight.
Saitama Can Land A Punch Even Before The Cause For It Exists in One-Punch Man
During his battle with Boros, Saitama jumped back to Earth from the Moon, covering about 384,000 kilometers – a speed approaching the speed of light. Later, while fighting Garou, Saitama used a technique called Zero Punch that essentially breaks the rules of cause and effect. This allowed a version of Saitama from the future to deliver the punch before he actually threw it, meaning Garou was hit before the punch even happened.
Saitama from One-Punch Man operates on a different level than Goku’s Ultra Instinct. Ultra Instinct reacts to danger before Goku even consciously registers it, but Saitama’s “Zero Punch” eliminates the threat before the attack can even begin. This means Goku’s Ultra Instinct, which can react to events in other timelines, wouldn’t be able to defend against a situation where the threat is instantly removed.
Kizaru Moves As Light in One Piece
Kizaru from One Piece doesn’t just move at the speed of light—his Devil Fruit ability allows him to become light. He can transform his body into photons and travel as a beam. This was demonstrated during the Sabaody Archipelago arc when he instantly attacked three powerful Supernovas, striking them all before they could even react, despite being spread out over a large area.
What sets Kizaru apart isn’t just being fast, it’s how he’s fast. I’ve noticed Ultra Instinct still relies on increasing movement speed, meaning Goku has to work to get faster. Kizaru, though, is different. He doesn’t so much accelerate to light speed as become light. Because of this, he doesn’t get tired or need to build up speed like Goku does – light just is fast, and Kizaru starts there naturally.
Gojo Uses Space Control Instead Of Physical Speed To Move And Block Attacks
Satoru Gojo isn’t fast just because he moves quickly; his technique, Limitless, actually changes the space around him. He creates a strong pull with ‘Blue’ that shortens distances, allowing him to cover short gaps almost like teleportation. This lets him appear behind enemies before they can react, and the series confirms he’s the fastest sorcerer of his time.
Gojo can also teleport long distances, and he can even bring others with him, as demonstrated in Jujutsu Kaisen 0. While this type of teleportation requires a few minutes to set up a special circle, the actual travel is still instant.
Shinra Moves Faster Than Time Can Propagate in Fire Force
Shinra is already incredibly fast, able to dodge lasers with his usual speed. However, when he uses Adolla Burst and Adolla Grace, his speed becomes almost unbelievable. By connecting with his brother Sho through an Adolla Link, Shinra’s body temporarily turns into particles that move faster than the speed of light.
Sho’s power allows him to drastically slow down the expansion of the universe, almost stopping time. Shinra counters this by moving at speeds exceeding the rate at which time flows. However, Shinra doesn’t completely overcome time itself; this ability relies on the unique connection between Adolla and Sho’s powers.
Killua Uses Godspeed to Remove Delay Time in Hunter X Hunter
Killua’s Godspeed ability eliminates the delay between thought and action. Usually, it takes time for the brain to send signals to muscles, which can be a disadvantage in a fight. However, with Godspeed, Killua bypasses this process in the anime Hunter X Hunter. Electrical signals travel directly through his body, allowing him to react to attacks instinctively, before he even consciously thinks about moving.
It’s interesting to compare Godspeed to Goku’s Ultra Instinct because both abilities bypass the normal thought process during reactions. However, Godspeed is different – it’s a natural, permanent enhancement to Killua’s body and nervous system. Unlike Ultra Instinct, it doesn’t require energy or have a time limit, and it doesn’t put a strain on him.
Koro-Sensei Uses Supersonic Speed to Break Enemies in Assassination Classroom
Koro-sensei can move twenty times faster than the speed of sound, and he can keep that up constantly in any direction. While impressive, that speed isn’t enough to beat Goku, who is much faster. Koro-sensei’s real strength lies in how he utilizes his speed, not just the speed itself.
Koro-sensei is incredibly fast, able to appear all over a classroom or battlefield and touch dozens of places before anyone can react. He’s so quick he can leave behind numerous afterimages, confusing opponents. Interestingly, the author of Assassination Classroom revealed that Koro-sensei wasn’t even using his full speed throughout the series – he intentionally limited himself, meaning he was actually much faster than what viewers saw.
Ichigo’s Final Bankai Uses Dual Attacks And Instant High-Speed Movement in Bleach
During the final arc of Bleach Thousand-Year Blood War, Ichigo’s Bankai doesn’t rely on typical speed. He fires two Getsuga Tensho blasts at the same time, crossing each other, and they move so quickly that even Yhwach, who can see all possible futures, struggled to react.
This version of Ichigo is different because his incredible speed is combined with Blut Vene Anhaben, an internal armor. He also boosts his movements with immense spiritual power and fast techniques like Shunpo, allowing him to cover vast distances almost instantaneously.
Jiren Overloaded Mastered Ultra Instinct Through Raw Pressure
Although it’s up for debate whether Jiren from Dragon Ball is truly a hero, he always acted more like a heroic opponent than a villain. When Hit tried to use his Time Skip ability, Jiren simply overpowered it with sheer determination. Hit’s technique normally stops time around a target, but Jiren was strong and fast enough to break through that frozen space and still hit his attacks.
This is significant because earlier in the tournament, Goku could only counter Hit’s Time Skip by reacting right before it happened. Later, during his fight with Goku’s perfected Ultra Instinct, Jiren became even stronger, pushing Goku so hard that the form overloaded and broke down. Jiren’s power and speed were simply too much for Goku to maintain the transformation.
