Both films are quite long, but Wicked: For Good really felt drawn out. The acting was still strong, especially Ariana Grande as Glinda, but the movie’s attempt at a darker mood felt unnatural, and some of the plot points were confusing. The new songs added little beyond extra runtime and seemed designed solely to attract Oscar attention, which didn’t pan out. Visually, the film focused heavily on Elphaba and Glinda, making the other characters appear out of place.
