He then brings in Barbie Lee, a popular character from Season 2, to help Danny, Dr. Jukic, and their families start over with new identities. Meanwhile, Russell resolves the issues he created with the Department of Defense, which drives a further wedge between the two brothers.
Tracker Season 3’s Finale Establishes A Divide Between Colter And Russell In Season 4
The season finale of Tracker not only shows the brothers splitting up as they take on different assignments, but also hints at a growing distance between Colter and Russell. Russell is offered a deal by McIntyre: if he participates in a secret operation, both he and Colter will be cleared of any wrongdoing.
Russell accepts the deal and is shown leaving with another person after asking Reenie to explain his absence to Colter. This suggests he’ll be gone for an extended period, abandoning his investigation into their father’s work and a major discovery he’s made, rather than continuing with Colter.
The season 3 finale of Tracker dramatically changes things for Colter and Russell, making it unlikely they’ll be able to work together in season 4. Russell learns some concerning information about Ashton Shaw from McIntyre, and he decides to keep it from Colter. Now separated and keeping secrets, Russell isn’t planning on reconnecting with his brother anytime soon.
Despite the issues surrounding Russell and the events that caused his downfall, the CBS series begins a fresh storyline. Russell receives Department of Defense information suggesting their father harmed Colter in the past, and he’s currently trying to avoid getting close to his brother to keep this secret hidden.
Jared Padalecki’s character in Tracker will have a reduced role at the start of Season 4 to allow the actor to film a new series, currently planned for release on Amazon Prime Video in 2027, where he’ll reprise his role as Soldier Boy. However, the show hasn’t ruled out the possibility of Padalecki returning to Tracker later in the season.
