Quick facts

  • LEGO HOGWARTS ™ Castle and Grounds
  • Piezas: 2660
  • edades: 18+
  • Medidas (por lego): más de 8.5 in. (21 cm) de alta, 13.5 in. (35 cm) de ancho y 10 pulgadas (25 cm) profundas
  • en el objetivo de $ 136.

I’m referring to a different LEGO Hogwarts set this time, not the large one selling for $469.99. The one I’m interested in is the Hogwarts™ Castle and Grounds set, which was initially priced at $169.99 on LEGO’s site but has now been reduced to a “New lower price” at Target, dropping from $144.99 to $136.99. Additionally, Target Circle cardholders can enjoy a 5% discount, which brings the total down further in my cart, making it approximately $140 with sales tax and the discount applied. At this price, it seems like a great buy compared to the current Amazon offering of $136.99 without the Circle Card discount.

As the days go by, moving us closer to September 1, my longing to re-read the Harry Potter series intensifies. There’s something magical about losing myself in the Wizarding World for weeks as summer turns to autumn by either rereading or listening to the Harry Potter books. Sadly, I won’t be able to indulge in this revisit quite yet, as I plan to wait until November when the first of the Full-Cast Audio Editions of the series become available on Audible. In the meantime, constructing a Hogwarts LEGO set could help pass the time. Can you believe the attention to detail? There are hidden rooms in the rocks, and you can spot things like the Durmstrang ship, Beauxbatons’ carriage, and the Ford Anglia trapped in the Whomping Willow. It’s those tiny details that make these sets such a delight to assemble and display.

If you’re curious about my reservations towards the Target LEGO deal, let me clarify that I typically don’t make impulsive purchases of LEGO sets. For every set that I can’t resist buying, there are several others that I long for but can’t afford or find room for, such as the Twilight Cullen house LEGO set. I prefer to plan ahead and save up for a good quality set. In fact, I’ve been hoarding my Barnes & Noble Rewards points for months to help with the cost of the Diagon Alley Wizarding Shops LEGO set. Buying the Hogwarts set from Target might mean putting off another expensive LEGO purchase for a while. However, I could also choose to wait until the Harry Potter TV show’s release date is closer before buying the Diagon Alley set.

Indeed, there’s much to ponder. Let’s hope that the current pricing of the Hogwarts Castle and Grounds set at Target remains steady as I weigh my options.
